Believe Customers- Not Competitors

Thursday, June 20th, 2013

Window_WarrantyAny company that is doing well and taking business away from their competition usually ends up with a bull’s-eye on their reputation.  For years, North Georgia Replacement Windows has been told by customers and prospects that certain companies in the market place spend more time talking about why they shouldn’t use North Georgia Replacement Windows rather than why the prospect should use the company they called out in the first place.  It’s frustrating to our expert window, door and insulation consultants, but it usually works out in our favor.

One thing I learned from an outstanding sales trainer early in my career was, “If you talk bad about your competition, you are actually inviting the prospect to call the competition out for a quote to find out for themselves.”   After all, why should a prospective buyer believe a competitor who may say anything or engage in gimmicks to get them to buy that day?  Many companies will try to mislead customers by taking warranty information out of context and fabricating stories.  Some have even gone as far as posting fake negative reviews, although reputable review sites such as Kudzu and Angie’s List will usually investigate and remove them.

The purpose of this blog is not to call out any competitors by name or discourage people to do their own due diligence.  Just as we do in our presentation, we try to educate and inform prospective customers about our products, services, and the way we do business.  Our reputation speaks for itself.  In fact, out of the last 500 customers that North Georgia Replacement Windows has completed a project for, over 99% would recommend our company.  This is based on a third party survey conducted by Guild Quality.

So the next time you are looking for a home improvement project such as windows, doors, or insulation and you are getting a quote from a company whose focus is talking negative about another company’s warranty, product, or workmanship – you should probably find out why for yourself.

Call or visit North Georgia Replacement Windows today for a quick, friendly, no-hassle proposal on windows, doors or insulation for your home or business. or (770)888-1604.

The Funny Bone

A visiting minister waxed eloquent during the offertory prayer. He began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous lookon his upturned face,”Without you we are but dust… “ He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter (who was listening!) leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little girl voice, “Mom, what is butt dust?”

What is big enough to be called the world’s largest Christmas project of its kind, yet small enough to fit inside a simple shoe box, with contributors such as U.S. Presidents Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush? If you guessed Operation Christmas Child (OCC), you are correct! This organization is near to our company for several reasons. Not only have some of us participated through church groups and with our families, but one of our employees also interned in their Alpharetta office before coming to work at North Georgia Replacement Windows! OCC is  a worldwide children’s project of Samaritan’s Purse that uses simple gift-filled shoe boxes containing school supplies, toys, necessity items and notes of encouragement to let hurting children know God loves them and they are not forgotten. This year, they are expected to reach a milestone, with plans to deliver more than 100 million boxes since the project began in 1993. With more than 3,200 drop-off sites in all 50 states, OCC is excited to see the boxes start rolling in during National Collection Week this week (November 12-19). To find a location near you, click here. After November 19, boxes can be sent through ‘Build a Box,’ an online tool offering a personalized and convenient way to send shoe boxes. For guidelines on what to pack, click here. Once you’ve packed your boxes, you can contact the regional office nearest you to schedule a time to work in one of OCC’s processing centers as they prepare the boxes to be delivered to more than 100 countries. True, it’s not even Thanksgiving yet, but what better way to usher in the spirit of Christmas than to take time to help a hurting child in need!

Energy Savings Tip

Newsletter - Quarter 4Along with the fun that comes with Fall, it also brings cooler temperatures. With that, it’s important to make sure your home is properly weatherized.

Beyond windows & doors, a very important, and often overlooked, area is your air duct system. Unsealed areas in your attic and crawlspaces could be costing you money. Here a few tips to prevent any more unnecessary heat and/or money loss!

1.) Check your ducts for air leaks. First, look for sections that should be joined but have separated and then look for obvious holes.
2.) If you use tape to seal your ducts, avoid cloth-backed, rubber adhesive duct tape — it tends to fail quickly. Instead, use mastic, butyl tape, foil tape, or other heat-approved tapes.
2.) Hire a professional to install both supply and return registers in the basement rooms after converting your basement to a living area.
