Have you ever met someone who has the uncanny ability to put a smile on your face no matter what situation you’re in? If not, meet Brian Brent. He is just that type of man. Brian has been working for Vytex, one of our window manufacturers, for the past three summers. During his first year, he made cardboard protectors for the windows. Newsletter - Quarter 3Brian was so fast that he was able to fill ten large boxes in his first week there! Last year he was promoted and began helping with grid assembly. Taking the same pride in his new position as he did in his previous one, Brian quickly mastered the skill to perfection and was awarded Vytex’s ‘Master Grid Maker’ recognition. This summer, Brian has continued his dedicated work on the window assembly line. On August 28th, Brian is scheduled to have heart surgery. We’re asking all of our readers to pray that the surgery and recovery go well. We need more positive people like Brian in our lives, and we pray the best for him and his family!

Energy Savings Tip

Newsletter - Quarter 3Here are some simple ways you can earn some ‘back-to-school’ energy savings around your home:

* Turn off your computer and monitor when they’re not in use & plug home electronics into power strips that can easily be turned on/off.
* Lighting makes up about 10 % of home energy costs. Save up to 75 % of that energy by replacing incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs). They also last longer, saving money on replacements.
* Wash only full loads of dishes and clothes

For more information on these tips and others, visit the U.S. Department of Energy.

NGRW was founded in 2005 by owners Ted Kirk and Jonathan Collum in efforts to provide more options for homeowners looking to replace their windows.

‘I realized that, in order to accommodate each homeowner’s unique situation, I needed to offer an assortment of brands, styles, colors and sizes, all backed by friendly, no-pressure sales and service.’ –Ted Kirk

Since that time, our company has grown from its humble beginnings in Ted’s basement to its current location off Warsaw Rd. in Roswell, GA. Our showroom offers a wide selection of the various windows and complimentary products offered, and we look forward to working with you on your next home project!

Changing from Double Hungs to Casements

Newsletter - Quarter 1

It’s true; most people still replace their windows with the same style that is currently in their home. However, there are many more options available when it comes to replacement windows. A couple of years ago, I replaced all the double hung windows in my home with casement style windows. I also know of four other window business owners who did the same. It was a decision that I couldn’t be happier with. So what do we know that the average window buyer may not…   Click here to read the entire blog.

2nd Lt. Travis Scott, brother of NGRW employee Rebecca Scott, is a graduate of North Georgia College and State University. Lt. Scott recently completed the United States Army Ranger School. This 61-day combat leadership course, which is broken up into three phases, is considered to be the most physically demanding and mentally challenging leadership course offered by the Army. Currently stationed at Fort Benning, GA, Lt. Scott is scheduled to leave for Colorado this week for his next three-year assignment. We are grateful for Lt. Scott’s service and sacrifice to our country and wish him the best as he continues to defend our freedom. God bless!

Energy Savings Tip

Newsletter - Quarter 1

You can save as much as 10% a year on heating and cooling by simply turning your thermostat back 7-10 degrees for 8 hours a day from where you would normally set it. (If you have a heat pump, don’t do this without a programmable thermostat.) You can do this automatically by using a programmable thermostat and scheduling the times you turn on the heating or air conditioning. As a result, the equipment doesn’t operate as much when you are asleep or not at home.
