The Oglethorpe Courthouse is the official courthouse of Oglethorpe County and has been uniquely and proudly serviced by North Georgia Replacement Windows. We felt a need to be especially sensitive when dealing with the Oglethorpe Courthouse. Not only does it need to be a highly functional building, but it dates back to 1887, making it a historical landmark in Georgia.

Style of the Oglethorpe Courthouse

The Oglethorpe Courthouse was constructed in the style of Romanesque Revival, which means that it has many arches, semi-circular arched windows, and belt courses (continuous layers of stones or shingles that overlap one another). The Romanesque Revival style of the Oglethorpe Courthouse is influenced by the Romanesque architecture of the 11th and 12th century, making its construction and inspiration very traditional.

True to form

We felt that it was important to keep these traditional aesthetics in mind when considering how to replace the windows of the Oglethorpe Courthouse because it was very important to us that we stay true to its original meaning and its core values. This loyalty to Romanesque style is not just because of the architecture of the building but also because of its purpose. A courthouse is a room founded on principles, and so it seemed like it would contradict those principles if we tried to revamp the building.

In the end

North Georgia Replacement Windows successfully restored the Oglethorpe Courthouse back to its former glory by constructing uniquely curved windows. We then placed these windows in frames that we constructed to ensure long lasting windows that will serve the Oglethorpe Courthouse for many years to come. Trust North Georgia Replacement Windows, the Atlanta window replacement experts for your window restoration needs.
